1 Million Users

March 31st, 2009  •  By Nate

Release the balloons! Read It Later has just passed the million user milestone.

The growth has been pretty constant but has been climbing at a significantly steeper pace since the release of version 0.99 of the Firefox extension.  Just over the past 3 months (Jan – March), Read It Later grew by 425,000 users alone.

Since the online sync service started in June of 2008, over 15,000,000 pages have been saved to read later.

I have to say, when I started working on the first version (>shutter<) back in September of 07, I never would have thought it’d be my most popular project.  It’s been a lot of fun to see it grow and I am very thankful for all of the help I’ve received from beta testers, translators, and numerous users who’ve contacted me.

So thanks everyone!  You can expect several new developments over the next few months!

P.S. The next big update should be announced very soon. :)
